Spring Break 2014

This year for Spring Break, we went to the Smokey Mountains.  It is the most visited National Park in America, it is free, and it is gorgeous!
The wildflowers just peppered the whole area!
I just love these boys!
It was beautiful!
Handsome boys!
Neal was a trooper to stay in the pack for all of our hikes!  It was perfect weather, no bugs, and we had happy kids!  It doesn't get much better than that!
We went to Jonny Rockets for dinner one night and it was hilarious!  The waiters are supposed to dance and they did NOT want to be doing that!  I thought it was pretty funny!  Our boys enjoyed their shake!
I love this kid!
 Breakfast on the porch!

Neal would sit in baskets since we didn't have a high chair!
Here is our funny house!  We drove through miles of rustic looking cabins only to come to the top of the mountain and feel like we were in some Dr. Seuss book.  There was an entire cal-de-sac filled with these funny pastel houses.  We loved it!

Christian stunning the kids with  his hops!
Spencer took this amazing shot of the water!

Here they are in the pretend chairlift.  One of the days we went hiking behind our house (that we scored an amazing deal on and shared with our friends the Lees! It was at the top of the mountain, had a Jacuzzi with fancy lights, and two bedrooms and the lady basically gave it to us since we booked last minute!  It was so much fun!) and hiked to the chalet at the top of the chairlift!  It was amazing, cold, and beautiful!  We got the view for free (unless you count hiking through wild raspberry bushes up a steep mountain with 5 kids in tow as payment!)
We hiked down to a river (twice) and just played in the water.  It was so fun to not have a schedule and just enjoy being together.  It really was awesome!
Handsome Man!
Cute Tyson!
I love this picture of Austin.  It captures his huge sense of wonder in his tiny body!
Me and Neal!  He was a trooper to nurse on the go!
I love this picture!
The mountains really are smokey--this is our view from the chalet!  It's supposedly stunning in the fall!  The picture doesn't do it justice because you can't really see the mountains very well, but it was beautiful!
Our friends the Lees joined us for the last two nights and provided all the food (and cooking!)  It was the perfect set up!  Plus we absolutely love their family!  Thank you for joining us!
The kids playing on the rocks by one of the picnic areas!
Playing in the water!
Neal just loves his Daddy!
Austin's handprints
ON our way back home we stopped at "Goats on the roof" which is just that--a bunch of goats on the roof that you can feed for fifty cents.  The kids LOVED it!
You put the cone on the doohickey and pedal it to the top!

After that we headed home, listening to conference on the way!  It was so much fun!
When we got home, Tyson lost his first tooth!  Christian got to pull it out and he was a champion about it!  It was so fun to just be together as a family and then to top it all off, have friends to share with us in the experience!  We loved playing games, eating good food, hiking, and just being together!  Thank you Lees for being awesome friends!
