Let's Rodeo!!

Let's Rodeo San Antonio!! About a month ago our friends the Riggs and we went to the San Antonio Rodeo! All of the seats for the concert and rodeo show were sold out except for some $50.00 singles, so we decided we would rather walk the grounds instead. Here we are at the rodeo!

Lyndsay's niece sent a paper doll of herself called "Flat Miley" who was supposed to go on some adventures in San Antonio before getting mailed back for a school project. Flat Miley got to ride some old tractors, visit the pigs, and almost got trampled by a cow! It was pretty funny!
Here we are by a really scary cow...actually most of the cows were scary up close. You just never knew what they were going to do next!
We missed the pig races by just a few minutes. These pigs were really cute though!

All in all it was a lot of fun! It reminded me of my Financial Economics teacher, Farrell Jenson, who on the last day of class showed us a tractor pull in the same town Napoleon Dynamite was filmed. I guess he knew some of the characters in the movie and they actually aren't that different in real life!! Anyway, our friends watched Tyson and it was a real date! Fat Tuesday

Happy Mardi Gras everyone! Our friends the Shipleys invited us over for some authentic Cajun Cuisine! Bill is the best cook! We had shrimp gumbo, shrimp sandwiches, and this really yummy rice stuff (I think it was called jambalaya). Everything was wonderful! The Hanks brought some crazy hats and beads and everyone had a good time watching the game. Go Spurs!!

Growing up!

Our little boy will be six months old this week! We can hardly believe how much he has grown the past few months and how much our lives have changed in only half of a year! We are reminded every day why the Savior asked us to be like a little child. If we were all as good as Tyson the world would be pefect! We are so grateful for our son! Here are the updates on all of us!

Update on Tyson:

1. He has rolled over! He rolled over for the first time about a month ago but he had only done it about five times since until last night. Now he can roll like a pro! His daddy finally got to witness it last night so that was pretty fun!
2. He likes to eat! Now he has tried rice cereal, pears, sweet potatoes and bananas. His favorites are pears and sweet potatoes but he likes to put just about anything in his mouth!

3. He is laughing! Now instead of an occasional giggle he can laugh for a long period of time! The best part is you don't have to do much to be really funny to him. It is a great self-esteem booster!! It is really cute!!

Update on Christian:

1. He is amazing! Dental school has been crazy this semester with several tests or practicals each week but he is such a stud! He has been scoring incredibly well and is more alive than he was last semester. I think not working with cadavers anymore has something to do with it!

2. His old roommate and one of our best friends Jeff Blair will be coming down to interview this coming week! Everyone pray he gets accepted because we want so bad for him and Nichole to come and live by us in San Antonio!

Update on Shannon:

1. I am playing violin for the Easter Oratorio! I went to our first rehearsal last night and it was so much fun. Susan, my cousin, is the director and she did a fantastic job getting everything ready. I am really excited to start playing again since it has been such a long time. I am excited to be a part of an orchestra for the first time in six years!

Tyson's first bite!

Tyson is gnawing his fingers in anticipation of this long-awaited moment! He has been grabbing at our plates for weeks and now it is finally his turn! He looks a little worried about this thing called food. Dad is ready with the rice cereal in hand! The first bite! Does he like it? Hey! It's not so bad! Mom's turn! We have the cutest little boy and are so proud he can now eat...sort of!

Merry Christmas!!

So I feel really bad about not keeping everyone updated but our camera is still not fixed and I feel silly putting up old pictures as Tyson has changed so much! Luckily for us, though, we have friends and family with cameras and we have finally put enough of their pictures together to be able to blog about it! So much has happened these past two months! It was so nice to have Christian home for three weeks over Christmas break! We spent time with Christian's parents for the first week and then with my parents the next two weeks.
As you may have noticed, we did not send out Christmas cards this year. So here it is...Merry Christmas from the Francis Family! We love you all and are so grateful for your love and support. We are so happy to have a Savior and be able to celebrate His birth. Christ means everything to us. Please come and see us in Texas! Our house is open for all to stay! By the way, we are planning on sending out Valentine's day cards instead this year, so be prepared! :)
The first week we were in Montana the high was -10 degrees fahrenheit. Christian's parents gave Tyson this snowsuit which he lived in that entire first week! He even slept in it! It was nice once it got above zero! Here is Christian and my brother Dan holding the babies.
Christmas Eve was spent at my Dad's house. Tyson got the cutest Teddy who is bigger than he is! He loved it! Thanks Dad! By the way, he had several blow outs that night which is why he isn't wearing any clothes. We are so grateful for heaters in Montana!

Here are all of the grandkids with Granny Jo. They had adorable Christmas pajamas which everyone opened up on Christmas Eve. My mom is so beautiful!
Christmas morning we helped Tyson open his first presens! He wasn't too interested but it was still fun for us!
It is a tradition in my family to go bowling on New year's Eve. The fun part was that Tyson was good luck! Christian held him nearly the entire night and kicked my trash! Although, with a score of maybe 50 that may not have been too hard to do! Christian (and Tyson) did do really well. Christian and Tyson waiting their turn to bowl! New Year's Eve we always run about two miles and meet at the big clock on Main Street. Christian, Dan, and I cut along the side streets one block early so we could pass my younger brothers Ben and Jake without them noticing. When Ben and Jake got to the clock they were so surprised they hadn't won! Everyone made it by midnight and it was a lot of fun.
We finally got to go skiing together for the first time ever! Christian snowboarded and I was on skis and it was so much fun! I was amazed at how beautiful the snowy mountains are in Montana! We loved it!
It was so nice to have Christian home and not studying all the time. Tyson loved it too and they spent nearly every moment together.
