This Easter we were able to have Dan and Katie come up and join us. We are going to miss them so much! They brought cascarones (eggs with confetti inside) which is a tradition in San Antonio. After seeing how they worked, Tyson really only wanted to watch other people get eggs smashed on their heads. Later that day, we were walking home and a family was crushing their cascarones on each other's heads in the driveway. The mom told her son to run over and give one to Tyson. He ran over and Tyson must have thought he was coming to crush it on his head. I have never seen him run so fast in his life! He was terrified!! I guess when it comes to fight or flight he may be more inclined to fly--which is ok by me :)
We colored easter eggs
We went to an amazing Easter egg hunt put on by our dear friends the Riggs. Austin was only interested in eating the jelly beans inside the eggs :)Tyson loved coloring the eggs! We made them with dye and vinegar since we were too lazy to walk up to the dollar store :) It worked pretty well!
Easter morning the boys got to find their baskets and eggs. We didn't tell them anything about an easter bunny but Tyson was convinced the eggs were for the bunnies to eat. It's funny what kids pick up and put together on their own! He was thoroughly confused though when people would ask him whether the easter bunny came to visit! It was pretty funny!
We are so grateful for the real reason we celebrate Easter. The resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ is an incredible and true gift to all of us. I'm so blessed to know about Him and be able to worship Him. I hope that love for Him is what our boys take away from Easter.
