40th Anniversary Gala
A couple of weeks ago Christian's professor invited (as well as generously paid for) us to attend the Dental school's 40th Anniversary dinner and dance. Dinner was $150.00 a plate and was in a fancy hotel downtown. Dinner was amazing! When I was a kid (maybe 10) my family was asked to sing at a John Denver fundraiser where the dinners were $300.00 a plate but the food was so gross my sister tried to feed it to the rancher's dog! I guess that's sort of what I was expecting, but to my surprise it was delightful! There were ten of us at a table and we got to sit with our good friend's the Riggs and got to know some other people from Christian's class. It was so fun! Finally, we went outside to the dance where we danced the night away! Actually, it was a little embarrassing. When Christian and I got there, nobody was dancing at all, but it just so happened that the band started playing, "I Will Survive" the moment we got there! That was one of my all time favorite songs as a teenager and so I knew all of the words and had matching dance moves to go with the whole thing! I'm so glad I married Christian! He was a good sport and danced with me the whole time even though it certainly wasn't one of his childhood favorites! Then this photographer dude started taking all of these pictures of us since we were the only ones dancing! I'm sure he mostly got pictures of me doing crazy dance moves and Christian laughing as he watched, but oh well! Anyway, it was amazing! Thanks to Dr. Rugh for inviting us to the gala and to the Garlicks for watching Tyson (who had taken a 4 1/2 hour nap that day!) and to Jennifer for lending me her earrings and dress! She helped me feel so beautiful! Also, thanks to my little sister for texting me directions as to how to dress in 'cocktail attire' She's the best! Finally, a big thanks to Christian for taking me out for a night on the town! I love you baby!

What a fun night! And you look amazing! I'll have to request "I Will Survive" at the Stake New Years Dance. ;)
Woot woot, you look amazing in that dress! Sounds fun.
That's so funny, I would have loved to have seen that--too bad we never put on that song at a roommate dance party ;)! Sometimes you're right, expensive food doesn't mean it's going to taste good--I'm glad this exceeded your expectations! Your hair looks so gorgeous!
I'm glad you guys had such a great time!
